The Greatest Fear–2022 and beyond!

by Linda on 07/1/2022

I know I kind of promised more frequent updates in 2021, but ya know…2021 was a busy time for me, and well, the rest of the world >.> Here are the current list of excuses why I haven’t updated this website:

  1. Real world work was really making me hate existence itself
  2. Trying to get a handle on new house/home purchases
  3. Maybe just plain laziness?

But I think there’s only one good reason: I had a love/hate relationship with my work space. I LOVED having my own area to type and play in, but I HATED said space. I’m not big on sharing, and when the other occupant was a complete and total mess hog, I couldn’t bear down and live with it. Not to mention my desk didn’t exactly have the real estate I could spread out in (OKAY, I admit I am a sprawler…sue me :D)

Then again, now that I think about it…does anybody really read this blog? Who am I giving all these explanations to? Like I’ve said before and I’ll say it again, laying it all out just feels so damned good 🙂

Focused green

by Linda on 02/16/2019

Yep, that’s it. I’ve decided to draw and color a series of guys with candy colored hair because there are too many candy colored women all over the place. I want candy coated -ahem- colored men, damnit! I get it that his hair isn’t as bright as a green M&M, but I think it suits him fine 🙂

I will probably draw/color more now because my favorite show of 2018/2019 “The Story of Ming Lan” is over with ;_; Feng Shaofeng and Zhao Yi Ling are SO CUTE together on screen and I adore them as a couple. I especially love Feng Shaofeng as Gu Ting Ye; I mean, he’s the perfect man – powerful, funny, honorable, detailed in all things (especially with his wife) and just….damn, he is just manly. Le sigh.

Just look at the way he sweeps his hands over her arms and pulls her close; so gentle and meticulous -swooooon- SO SWEET! The show ended last week at 73 episodes so maybe in a few more weeks I’ll start a binge watching session.

It’s already December JANUARY?!

by Linda on 01/9/2019

I can’t believe it has been three four months since my last blog post. I mean, nobody really reads this, but boy does it feel good to lay it all out – the good, the bad, and the fugly. Since it’s nearing Christmas, I will give a fair warning to all, I WILL NOT BE ON SOCIAL MEDIA during “the holidays.” I’m not really big on social media anyway, but don’t expect a family Christmas photo nor expect a Merry Christmas SMS (but I do enjoy my little sister’s Christmas photos featuring her legion of dogs). I’m just not a holiday person a horrible person. Damn, just bait me with adorable dog photos/videos and I turn into the Christmas saint…if such a thing exists.

So what will I be doing during the holidays? Working my 12 hour/day job, catching up on some reading (I finished Hollywood Dead finally), hopefully draw on some cute anime guys, and PLAY SPLATOON 2! I’m not really sure why I’m in love with Splatoon 2, but there are certain aspects of the game everybody should love. It’s colorful, the character designs are refreshing, and it’s just nice, clean fun. Now EVERYONE run out, buy a Nintendo Switch (if you don’t already own one) and Splatoon 2, and let’s battle it out online 🙂

Playing the catch up game

by Linda on 09/30/2018

After trying to finish school with a “passing” grade and squeezing in 400+ obsessive hours of Splatoon 2 since July 2017 (not to mention the highly addictive Monster Hunter World in March of this year), I’m finally back to catch up on my list of books, anime, and games. Here’s a semi-exhaustive list. I’ll have to add onto this list or make a separate page to house my “to do list” since it’s a little difficult to concentrate while trying to type a blog post and watch Shokugeki no Soma s03e23 (I mean…who IS this Morpheus looking dude and WTF is umami?!). Perhaps I’ll post mini reviews after I finish each item.

Stuff I’ve been OBSESSED with FOR AGES

  1. Splatoon 2
  2. Nintendo Switch
  3. Indie games
  4. Fountain pens

Books

  1. Hollywood Dead by Richard Kadrey
  2. Temeraire books by Naomi Novak
    • Crucible of Gold
    • Blood of Tyrants
    • League of Dragons
  3. Paper Magician
    • Glass Magician
    • Master Magician
    • Plastic Magician
  4. Lord of the Rings – All of the damned books (it’s quite depressing)
  5. The Sprawl Trilogy by William Gibson
    • Neuromancer (Currently rereading due to its complexity and length of time I’ve waited to read the rest)
    • Count Zero
    • Mona Lisa Overdrive
  6. The Drizzt Do’Urden books – It’s been a while since I’ve read them, but I mean, this dude is hot except on the short side. Damn.

Anime

  1. Black Clover
  2. Gran Blue (They said it’s pretty entertaining and funny…we’ll see.)
  3. I’m not even going to bother with the 300+ episode type anime like HxH, Fairy Tale, One Piece, etc. Just feel like the yield isn’t worth the trouble. And you shall find me mauled to death by fanboys tomorrow…catch my corpse on CNN @ 9 tomorrow.

Games

  1. The Witcher 1-3
  2. The Order 1886
  3. Fire Emblem
    • Awakening
    • Fates
    • Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
    • Warriors (I’m not sure this one even belongs on this list, but I don’t have a Samurai Warriors lists.)
  4. Rayman Legends
  5. Bayonetta 1 + 2
  6. The Last Guardian
  7. Horizon Zero Dawn
  8. Uncharted Collection
  9. Ni No Kuni 1 + 2
  10. Skyrim

I’m not even going to list the games I have to finish.

Blue Fair

by Linda on 09/23/2018

Just finished this profile of another miscellaneous guy, and surprise surprise I’m all about schmexy anime guys. Although this particular image was drawn just so I can practice painting in Procreate on an iPad Pro (1st gen…which is, surprisingly, still quick on the go with minimal hiccups), I decided to post it because it turned out…okay. I just need to work on it being more “painterly.”

Mid 2018 Anew

by Linda on 09/18/2018

Sept 2018 thumb

Hello 2018! This website is probably ten years old and hasn’t received an update for just about that long. Sad, I know. But the good news is that I’m finished with school, probably won’t have to study for the next five years or so, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is such an amazing show. What does that mean though? I have a lot more time on my hands to draw, read, game, and to nerd out completely. It’s the year for the newness to begin…or something like that?

Enjoy!
